Basics
Horsea is a Water-type Pokémon. Its 100% IV CP is 603 at level 20 (raids, eggs and research), 754 at weather-boosted level 25 and up to 1,194 at level 50. It is weak to Electric/Grass attacks (1.6×). It resists Fire/Water/Ice/Steel attacks. In raids, Water Gun + Bubble Beam is its strongest moveset (level 40, 100% IVs). It evolves into Seadra with 25 Candy. As your buddy, it earns 1 Candy every 3 km you walk together.

Horsea eats small insects and moss off of rocks. If the ocean current turns fast, this Pokémon anchors itself by wrapping its tail around rocks or coral to prevent being washed away.

- How to read IVs and appraisalsIVs run from 0 to 15 for each of Attack, Defense and HP, and appraisal stars are set by the sum of the three (0–45).
- What to power up first (power-up priorities for beginners)Stardust is limited, so first power up strong counters you'll use for a long time across many raids.
- Choosing IVs for PvP (low Attack wins in Great and Ultra League)In leagues with a CP cap, the lower the Attack IV, the higher you can level up within the same CP, which makes Defense and HP bigger.
