- Community Day usually happens once a month, from 14:00 to 17:00 local time. One Pokémon appears a lot and your odds of meeting its Shiny form go up.
- Evolving it during the event (or within the announced window) often teaches it an exclusive move, so save up Candy for evolving in advance.
- Stock up on balls, Pinap Berries, Star Pieces and Lucky Eggs, and clear space in your bag and Pokémon storage ahead of time.
What is Community Day?
It's an event where the featured Pokémon appears a lot in the wild for three hours on a set day. Times are local, so in Korea it runs on Korea time. Bonuses differ by event (1/4 Hatch Distance, 3-hour Incense, more catch Stardust, etc.), so be sure to check the event post. You can see past events in Event history.
The day before
- Clear space in your bag and bring plenty of Poké Balls, Great Balls and Ultra Balls.
- Get Pinap Berries (2× Candy), Star Pieces (1.5× Stardust, 30 minutes) and Lucky Eggs (2× XP, 30 minutes) ready.
- Make room in your Pokémon storage. You might catch hundreds in three hours.
- Save up Candy for evolving the featured Pokémon. Its evolutions often learn an exclusive move.
- Check the event post for a Special Research ticket (paid, optional).
During the event
- In the first hour, activate a Star Piece and Incense and catch a lot.
- Pick out the ones with high IVs (How to read IVs and appraisals).
- Do your evolving all at once with a Lucky Egg active. To learn the exclusive move, you need to evolve during the event or within the announced window.
- Shiny odds go way up during the event. Tap every one you see.
After it ends
- Transfer extra Pokémon to the Professor for Candy.
- Some events add a Special Trade bonus, so trade with friends (Trading and Lucky Pokémon).
