Raids and Remote Raid Passes
BattleLast checked 2026-10-31
In 3 lines
- Raids open at Trainer level 5. Up to 20 Trainers team up to defeat and catch a boss that appears at a Gym.
- You get one free Raid Pass a day from a Gym's Photo Disc, and with Remote Raid Passes you can join from afar up to 10 times a day.
- Prepare six Pokémon of the boss's weakness types. When you catch it, its CP is at level 20 (level 25 if weather boosted) and its IVs are 10 or higher in each stat.
Raid types
| Type | What to expect | Time limit |
|---|---|---|
| 1-star | Easy to win alone | 180 seconds |
| 3-star | Alone or with 2 players | 180 seconds |
| 5-star (Legendary) | Usually needs several players | 300 seconds |
| Mega | Win to get Mega Energy | 300 seconds |
| Shadow | When the boss gets enraged, calm it with Purified Gems | 1- and 3-star 180 seconds, 5-star 300 seconds |
Check the current bosses and how many players they need on Raids, and whether your own Pokémon can beat one alone in the solo simulator.
Raid Passes
- Raid Pass: one a day, from spinning a Gym's Photo Disc. You can only hold one at a time.
- Premium Battle Pass: buy it in the shop or get it as a reward. Use it for raids near you.
- Remote Raid Pass: lets you join raids far away. Since May 13, 2025 you can use up to 10 a day, and the limit sometimes goes up during events.
You can also join remotely when a friend invites you to a raid. For a boss you can't beat alone, gather players with friend invites.
Choosing counters
- Look at the boss's weakness types. If it has a double weakness (×2.56), the damage is much bigger.
- Pick six Pokémon that have both a Fast Attack and a Charged Attack of that type. If the move's type matches the Pokémon's type, you get an extra 1.2×.
- If that type is weather boosted, you get another 1.2×.
- You can have only one Mega Evolved Pokémon on your team. It boosts the attacks of every participant, and boosts attacks of the same type as the Mega Pokémon even more.
When you catch it
- Pokémon you catch in raids are level 20, or level 25 if the boss's type is weather boosted.
- IVs are 10 or higher in each stat (6 or higher in Shadow Raids). You can tell whether it's 100% from its CP before you catch it (How to read IVs and appraisals).
Checklist
- Level up six Pokémon of the boss's weakness types
- Only one Mega Evolution per team
- Pick up your free Raid Pass every day
- If it's hard alone, gather players with friend invites and remote raiding
