Basics
Forretress is a Bug/Steel-type Pokémon. Its 100% IV CP is 1,304 at level 20 (raids, eggs and research), 1,630 at weather-boosted level 25 and up to 2,580 at level 50. It is weak to Fire attacks (2.56×). It resists Normal/Ice/Psychic/Bug/Dragon/Steel/Fairy/Grass/Poison attacks. In raids, Bug Bite + Heavy Slam is its strongest moveset (level 40, 100% IVs). As your buddy, it earns 1 Candy every 5 km you walk together.

Forretress conceals itself inside its hardened steel shell. The shell is opened when the Pokémon is catching prey, but it does so at such a quick pace that the shell's inside cannot be seen.

- How to read IVs and appraisalsIVs run from 0 to 15 for each of Attack, Defense and HP, and appraisal stars are set by the sum of the three (0–45).
- What to power up first (power-up priorities for beginners)Stardust is limited, so first power up strong counters you'll use for a long time across many raids.
- Choosing IVs for PvP (low Attack wins in Great and Ultra League)In leagues with a CP cap, the lower the Attack IV, the higher you can level up within the same CP, which makes Defense and HP bigger.
